Sorry for the long gap in posts. No excuse just busy working and healing. We took a quick trip for Hailoh’s 4th birthday party on Sept. 15. We had a few moments of angst when Walmart didn’t deliver the Barbie Jammin Jeep as promised but it all worked out. The rented bouncy castle was a huge hit with the party goers as was the post-party outdoor movie projected on the white fence in the backyard. Not sure how much more you could jam into one fun-filled Saturday. Oh yeah, Hailoh’s first soccer game. She is destined to be a soccer star.
Flew out Thursday for Levi & Allie’s wedding in wine country (Hopland Calif). Here is the best kept secret, the Santa Rosa airport. It is like going back in time to a simpler place and time. The trip up north on highway 101 in the rental car was a breeze. Friday was spent having complimentary breakfast by the pool and a spontaneous decision to drive to the coast. I headed north to Willets and west to Fort Bragg. Highway 20 is amazing. The road was newly paved and the drive through the redwoods was spectacular. Not knowing what time the rehearsal dinner was meant my time in Fort Bragg was limited. A quick BLT and I was on my way back. I got back in time to spend time in the pool right outside my room. I was one of the first to the Ukiah Brewery for thr rehearsal dinner as the wedding party was very late arriving. They were kind enough to invite many of their out of town guests to the dinner. We were quite bonded by the time the bride-to-be and groom-to-be arrived. Saturday was low-key with more pool/reading time then dress up and wait for the shuttle. The fact that they hired a shuttle to drive us to and from the wedding venue was inspired. We never would have found our way there let alone home in the pitch dark of the California hillside. The venue was just perfect for a small wedding. After a 90 decree day, sitting neath a tree with the evening breeze to witness the vows was a great start for the evening festivities. Food, wine tasting and all the wedding reception treats awaited us not to mention an incredible sunset. I didn’t find out until I was leaving on Sunday that this would be the last wedding at this venue as the owners have gone a different direction.
Sure glad I was part of that last wedding gala.
