Purses for Haiti

I am back to work making purses.  I took a few weeks off to complete a birthday quilt and make some cushions for the back porch.  The one pictured below is sold but in my quest for purple fabric I picked up a similar one with colorful seahorses and plenty of lining fabric to go with it.  Soon you will see a flurry of owls.  Stay tuned!!

In the picture above you can see how the purse looks when worn.  If the model wanted the purse to ride higher on her hip, she just needs to knot the strap.

EPIPHANY

According to the dictionary epiphany is:

a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

Ladies and gentleman, I had an epiphany of the best kind and I am going to tell you how this will change MY world and help a population of people I may never meet. Today I will share how I got inspired, how it all came together in my head, what I am doing to reach my goal. In other words how my insight got legs.

How I got inspired -Toastmaster’s Breakfast Keynote Speaker – Greg Bennick

How it came together in my head – gathering the fragments

  • I make purses because I love to see the colors come together
  • People like the purse
  • People like to help in ways that don’t involve just a checkbook

That’s  how I got inspired, how it all came together in my head, what I am doing to reach my goal of creating 100 Purses for Haiti.  In other words how my insight got legs.

Scroll down to see the latest fabric combinations as well as completed purses.  Some of those purses are out in the world to be enjoyed while all the proceeds are on their way to help the people of Haiti in their quest to live a better life.

You will find a contact page.  Let’s start a conversation and I will start sewing.
